quick summary
two years ago I visited the Dollhouse show room with my fashion marketing class.
left an email address, and about two sentences on being really interested in interning.
fast forward to about four months ago, I get an email asking if I'd be in New York City this summer, because Dollhouse was looking for interns.
I responded: hell yes.
no, I didn't.
(but that was the idea)
fast forward again, I'm sitting in my god parents house 25 minutes outside of New York City two weeks into one of the best experiences of my existence and I'm in a state of bliss.
day one: met everyone, everyone forgot my name, told everyone my name, they forgot. (rinse and repeat)
after that it has been a whirlwind of organizing samples, updating stock lists, sitting in on buyer meetings, drooling over samples, meeting new people, repeating my name and enjoying every moment of it!
I'm pretty inadequate when it comes to blogging, in the sense that while I'm fully comfortable doing photoshoots, uploading, editing, posting, and writing. I;m not really good with taking outfit of the day pictures of my own attire, maybe its because I actually invest time in photography, and a quick snap of what I'm wearing always feels mediocre and useless. However my god sister is in town starting tomorrow, so I'll have to make her my photo slave. (slavery is wrong you say, and I, in response, laugh and repeat "photo slave! photo slave!" over and over.)
My bestfriend Emily suggested I start vlogging, embracing the idea like an confused turtle. I said..."uh why?" and she very blatantly said, because you get all weird on camera and tell funny stories."
So basically I'm going to pretend like that was a push in the right direction, and will potentially and probably start vlogging. I mean, life is interesting right now, so why not?
My commute involves a bike ride, a train ride and about fifteen minutes of walking.
My internship is basically a crash course through the Fashion Industry, I know I'm only scratching the surface, but it feels awesome to finally be here in the city, experiencing...everything.
I got lost a lot in the beginning but once you understand the grid system, and that most people wont axe your face if you ask them for directions, things start to get easier.
So, yes. that is all. I will be better about updates. I promise.
