Several people RSVP-ed and I was hoping the number would increase as we got closer to the event day, the following week, my fashion marketing teacher graciously offered to hand out invitations to her younger students and ask them to come as well. When the event day finally came I was excited yet still unsure what to expect, when I reached I was given a pair of toms, grey skinnies, a mustard colored cardigan and a printed floral top, the outfit itself was super cute, however, I was unsure on the mustard color, two other girls were there, one was given wide legged pants, stilettos, and a loose top, the other girl modeled a fitted blazer, skinnies and a pair of sequined converse. Candis asked us to stand on the mannequin display and pretty much just showcase our outfits, as people walked by she would describe each trend and she would give a description of each trend. It was pretty awkward standing up there, but eventually we started chatting and the situation became a lot more comfortable. Later, some of my friends showed up, it's really nice to see people you know at a new place, and I was super glad that I had invited them, I asked them to give their invitations to Candis and then I helped them find things to try on. At the event we had kept small things to snack on and drinks, this really attracted people to the store and it was evident that food was a big attractor and that for future event we would have more, and a larger selection. More of my friends showed up and some girls from the fashion marketing department came as well, it was amazing to see my invitations stacking up. I approached every single person I invited and thanked them for coming, and asked to show them around, this made them feel welcome, and helped usher them into the store. This went on from 12 to 4 and by the time the event was over I was exhausted, I wished I had eaten lunch and I really needed a foot massage, seemed like toms aren't the ideal "trekking" shoe. However they were very comfy and I'm glad I got them as opposed to the heels! After the event I called my mom and asked her to come get me, when she came we borrowed around and did some much needed back-to-school shopping, I picked up a ton of things, from jeans, to shirts to a fall coat. I was discouraged to buy a lot because of the steep prices but was encouraged because of the high quality and huge selection. The event, overall, was a great experience and I loved being part of the process, almost everyone I invited bought something and it was great to see people walking out with merchandise. Ill post my haul later this week!

BP Back-To-School Event Haul
A couple weeks ago our manager, Candis, told us that we were hosting a Back-To-School event, she asked us to model some of the fall trends and to invite as many friends as possible. This was my first event, and I really didn't know how the process was going to go, and what to expect, we jumped into the meeting talking about the amenities we wanted to have at the event. We figured a main attraction that would really encourage people to come would be, make artists, nail station and personal stylists on the floor, surprisingly these services are always offered, just, most people had no idea. (like me...) After the meeting she asked us to pick up "fresh sheets" to pass out to our friends, she announced a competition, that whomever brought the most people would win a BP prize, me being overly competitive and just crazy knew, that I H A D to win. I noticed that the fresh sheets were low quality and didn't look personal enough so I emailed our manager and asked to make my own! I really took advantage of my obscene amount of facebook friends, I created a facebook group and invited most of my friends (girls only..) I figured this way, the word would get out, but, it would stay personal because I was inviting each person myself. Facebook is a super good way to tell your friends about things you're doing and inviting them to places.
